Small Business Alliance

Small Business Alliance helps small companies earn past performance qualifications they need for thier business to thrive. The Alliance began as a disruptive alternative to the ‘coat tails’ method of courting prime vendors and hoping those efforts would result in a subcontract.

Past Performance is an indicator of future performance and is one of the most relevant factors that a selection official should consider in awarding a contract. That makes Past Performance Quals (PPQ) the ‘coin of the realm’ in federal contracting because with out it, an SB has little chance of getting a teaming agreement or winning small business set aside contracts.

The problem is SBs - especially those in the bootstrap phase - cannot earn PPQs until they get some subcontract work. Consequently, SBs spend precious time courting potential prime vendors rather than competing for work that will actually earn them a PPQ (and money).

Small Business Alliance consists of a rapidly growing bench of small companies across all socio-economic categories who need a subcontract position to earn a PPQ, and they will work hard for it at a competitive price point.

The Alliance aggregates its members' knowledge, relationships and PPQs to collectively raise the probability of winning federal contracts. This provides a competitive advantage when bidding on small business set-aside contracts, and quickly helps large companies fill in their capability gaps. In turn, as many Alliance members as possible get a piece of the work to earn a PPQ even if it is not for the full duration of the contract.

There are numerous benefits to Large Companies of utilizing the Small Business Alliance. It raises your pWin by filling capability gaps; gain access to more competitive rates; provides an expansive geographic reach; brings intimate customer knowledge & experience; adds broad socio-economic classification coverage; leverages local recruiting abilities, and more.
